@ the legislative session... AADD is tracking Senate Bill 391
Senate Bill 391 would provide alternative placement for youth who have developmental disabilities or mental health issues who have committed crimes. It would allow individuals to be placed in community based facilities for a period of time until charges are dropped or a judge makes a ruling instead of being placed in prison or forensic setting. The bill is sponsored by Senator Renee Unterman and Senator Jack Hill and will go to the Senate Judiciary Committee next week for review.
